Paul Cosgrove

Paul has more than 25 years of experience in government relations and business law. He specializes in representing national and state trade associations and Fortune 500 companies before the Oregon Legislature, administrative agencies and local governments. His clients include manufacturing, consumer products and services, financial services, and health care companies and organizations. He also practices in the areas of commercial law, consumer finance law, bankruptcy law and general business law.
Since 1987, Paul has been affiliated with Lindsay, Hart, Neil + Weigler, where he practices law Of Counsel. He is the past chair of the board of directors of State Law Resources, a national network of independent law firms with special expertise in government affairs. He also was a founding member of Oregon’s Public Health Institute, and he chaired its board from 1999 until 2007. He serves on the Board of Directors and as Vice Chair of the Capitol Club, the association of Oregon’s professional government relations advocates.
He has been named three times by Portland Magazine as one of the city’s best lawyers in government affairs. He is a member of the Oregon and Washington State Bars, and he has given many legal education presentations and talks on government affairs and business topics.
Paul received his J.D. from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College and his B.A. with honors from Western Washington University.
