Dane focuses his practice on maritime law, with a primary emphasis on defense of claims filed under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act.
Before joining Lindsay Hart, Dane worked as a Labor Relations Representative for Pacific Maritime Association, responsible for negotiating and arbitrating issues raised under the company’s collective bargaining agreement with the International Longshore and Warehouseman’s Union.
Dane received his bachelor’s degree in English Literature with minors in Business Administration and Writing, Public Speaking & Critical Reasoning from the University of Oregon. He then moved back to his hometown of Salem, Oregon, to attend Willamette University College of Law where he obtained his J.D. with a certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution. While there he was a writer and editor for two online publications, Willamette Law Online and Recent Developments in Dispute Resolution.
After Willamette, Dane moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, to pursue an LL.M. in Admiralty & Maritime Law from Tulane University School of Law. While in Louisiana he worked as a law clerk at Diliberto & Kirin, primarily aiding in filing claims under the Oil Pollution Act.
Outside of the office, Dane enjoys rowing, swimming, boating, fishing, and any other activity that allows him to be near or in an ocean, lake, river, pond or puddle. He and his wife have two young kids that they are raising on a small Willamette Valley Ponderosa Pine tree farm.
